Hawkswell Theatre show in May / Grange and Dublin gigs reviewed
We are pleased to announce that NoCrows will be performing a very special concert in the Hawkswell Theatre in Sligo on the 12th May 2012.
The band will be performing some brand new material as well as tracks included on our three CDs Live in The Strand, Magpie and NoCrows On the Moon. The show will feature several guests including our regular collaborator (now virtually band member), Russian virtuoso violinist Oleg Ponomarev as well as local and international artists still TBA. Throughout 2011, NoCrows toured mainly in the continent and recorded the soundtrack of a short film (watch this space for news about this new project).
This year we are taking things easy and will take time off the road to write new tunes and songs in preparation of a new studio album, so this will be a rare opportunity to catch up with the band in one of our always-exciting (even for us) theatre concerts.
We had a wonderful week in mid February with two great performances in Barry’s in Grange, Co. Sligo last Sunday 12th Feb and in the Instituto Cervantes Dublin last Thursday 16th.
The Grange family show was brilliant craic with a huge bunch of children enjoying the music and the dancing. It proved to be a great idea and we might repeat again. Thanks to all the over 16s for bringing along their under 16s and to Colin Gillen, a serious live music supporter, for giving us the chance to experience new ‘mad’ ideas.
Our Dublin show was the most successful visit to the capital to-date and we want to thank the Instituto Cervantes staff and management, as well as our good friend Paul Lee, for making such a big effort promoting the event. We tried lots of new material with Spanish or Hispanic roots for this, our first collaboration with the Spanish Cultural Institute, a Government organisation which promotes Spanish language and culture abroad. Well worth to pay them a visit: www.dublin.cervantes.es
